Amy C. Boohaker is an attorney, Certified Financial Planner&tm(CFP&tm), Certified Divorce Planner (CDFA), and certified family law mediator practicing in Sarasota, Florida.

Before moving to Florida Ms. Boohaker was employed for ten years as Briefing Attorney to the federal bankruptcy judge in Austin, Texas. Her professional career has been varied having previously worked for three other bankruptcy judges, the U.S. Justice Department/Office of the U.S. Trustee, the Administrative Office of U.S. Courts, and a Chapter 11 Trustee in over 15 years of bankruptcy practice in Austin, Dallas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Ms. Boohaker is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she received a B.S. in English Education, a Masters in Library Science, and her Juris Doctorate. She is admitted to the Florida, Texas, and Louisiana State Bars, as well as the federal courts for the Middle District of Florida, Western District of Texas, Northern District of Texas, and Middle District of Louisiana. She is a member of the Sarasota and Manatee County Bar Associations, The Florida Association of Women Attorneys, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar.

Most recently Ms. Boohaker spoke for a second time at the Institute of Certified Divorce Financial Analysts (ICDFA) Annual Meeting on "Debt and Bankruptcy in Divorce under the Proposed Bankruptcy Code". Her article on that same subject appeared in the February, 2003 Sarasota Bar Association "Docket". She also has spoken at several ICDFA regional meetings on the "ABC's of Legal Research" and on Qualified Domestic Relations Orders to the Family Law Sections of the Sarasota and Manatee County Bars. A member of the ICDFA and the FPA, she serves on the 2003/2004 Board of Directors for the Sarasota/Manatee County Financial Planning Association and is the in-coming President for 2004.
