Stable Personality
Judges like to see parents who are functioning well and comfortable with themselves.
Judges are hesitant to assign custody to parents who are emotionally or mentally
unstable.
The experience of divorce itself creates tremendous instability, and judges won't hold
it against you if you are evaluating many things in your life.
But judges prefer to see the custodial parent be someone who is calm and reasonably
steady in his or her routines.
