Nostalgic Experiencing the reality of separation, both Marvin and Delinda remember the good times very fondly. Loneliness, fear, and the complexity of divorce make both of them want to consider a reconciliation. If they use this opportunity to address the underlying problems, the reconciliation can work. If they return to the marriage with a burst of good will, but no plan to figure out and address their underlying issues, then the reconciliation probably will not work. Often, couples report fabulous sex right after a reconciliation. This is most often followed by a resumption of old problems. The honeymoon period of a reconciliation is not a good time to become pregnant. Reconciliations driven solely by loneliness or fear of the future are often temporary, because the underlying problems inevitably reappear.
